Senior System Administrator (W/M/X)

NESSUS is a renowned Austrian IT company that has specialized in IT services since 1999. We provide our customers with our fiber optic and microwave network in Vienna and the surrounding area with bandwidths of up to 100 Gbit/s. Additionally, we operate two ISO-certified high-security data centers with a total area of over 2,300 m². Our most prominent customers include major media companies, banks, as well as messaging platforms and popular job portals.

The company remains 100% owned by founder and CEO Florian Schicker. Our office, which is home to 25 friendly employees, is centrally located in Vienna and is easily accessible by public transport. We work in modern, bright, and pleasant offices on the air-conditioned top floor.

Your Responsibilities

  • Management of our physical systems (HP servers, VMware ESXi)
  • Operation and maintenance of our Linux servers (Debian)
  • Administration of our Active Directory and MDM
  • Maintenance and further development of monitoring and network management systems
  • Installation and commissioning of fiber optic connections
  • Ensuring network operation including error analysis and troubleshooting
  • Communication with the teams involved (e.g. Support, Field Service)
  • Maintaining our technical documentation

Requirements

  • You have a solid basic technical understanding
  • You have extensive experience with Linux servers
  • You have already gained initial experience in the networking field (configuration of switches, routers, etc.)
  • You are motivated to learn new things and develop your technical skills
  • You show initiative and enjoy finding solutions independently

Bonus Points

  • if you are familiar with the ISP environment
  • You feel at home in both system administration and network technology
  • You work in a structured manner, take initiative, and are capable of handling tasks completely independently

Your Salary

Minimum salary according to collective agreement: EUR 3,077 gross / month (ST1 – full-time basis)
Actual salary: from EUR 4,300 gross / month depending on qualification and experience.
